Miss World 2007 and Sanya

And the winner is … CHINA …


My aunt just mailed me last week : ‘in the newspaper, the radio, turn on your TV, … everywhere it’s China you hear about’. And now this, the FIRST Chinese Miss WORLD. I fully disagree with the jury of the years before!But so … is it a coincidence that even miss world “has to be” a Chinese?




Miss China Zi Lin Zhang was crowned Miss World 2007 at a glittering event at
the Chinese tourist resort of Sanya Saturday, beating 106 participants. India's Sarah-Jane Dias failed to make it to the semi-finals.


But of course it would not be China if there were no rumors of fraud, bribes, ...
Then I started to search the internet, and passed by this video :

... and I thought what the heck, such a smile, every man makes every man melt, and that’s probably why she won.

But hey, wait a minute… this is also her, before the fame … There plenty of those here in Beijing!

Now another interesting thing about this miss world business is that almost every year it is held in China! More specifically in Sanya
.

I got to know Sanya by a client who runs a luxury hotel there. He told it is the next hot spot in China, for tourism, a piece of paradise in the south. Then we found out that friends of us bought a flat there, part as an investment, part as a resort to escape the cold winters. A new Costa Blanca? Maybe… though much more luxurious. It’s rich and famous from HongKong who built this new city. Now all over China people are starting gain interest.

So if any one wants a good place to invest … go to Sanya! We’ve considered it, as you can have a new, 2 bedroom flat for about 70 000 EUR, in a good location. Prices of 5000 RMB per sq/m seem normal there. That is like Beijing 5 years ago … now it is hard to find something good at 15 000 RMB sq/m.
