Three days paid holiday are given, and the surrounding weekends are re-arranged so that workers in Chinese companies always have seven continuous days of holiday.

In fact the biggest ‘obligation’ to be with family is for Chinese Newyear. The modern generation, who are more wealthy, start to enjoy tourism in it’s most ordinary meaning: beach holidays, visiting tourist spots, …
Newspapers have been talking about what an economical success it is for the country to have such holidays. There were articles about all the people doing business as never before, about Chinese visiting their Great wall (see picture crowded), … (*picture: can you imagine? thousand of km of wall ... and then having to cue up to visit... is China reaching it's boundaries?)
So tourism is just another booming business here. The ones who step into that business, are sure to have a successful start in the coming years.
Pity our youth hotel project could not get started. But then again, recently I have found out that it is a good thing that we didn't sign that contract... As contracts are almost worthless here. You may sign an agreement, but if the other decides to step out of it, you can go to hell, he takes your work/investment with him... but that is another subject on which i surely will write a lot more soon.

For now again, this post will be shorter than expected.
I hope to have some more time to spend on blogging, and mailing all of you who read this (might be not too many though).
But in fact everything considered … the holidays in Laizhou were all not that interesting, eating eating drinking and eating with Chinese family... Rain kept us at home for a few days and it seemed as we've held some kind of wintersleep... One day went to some temples on nearby mountain, drove the Virago of a cousin, went to visit the family farmers, … and for the rest eat eat drink eat eat … to then take a horrible busride of 12 hours back ‘home’ to our Beijing.
Later on I want to write about the differences between Beijing and LaiZhou, poor and rich in each city, contrasts, …
‘One World One Dream’ is the sentence for the BJ Olympics 2008, but is there even a 1 China? (cause differences are so big)
